What seems to be a WebKit bug with backdrop-filter

a red and blue box with a blurred background above text on a cyan background. the heading readers "weird backdrop filter", while text under the boxes repeat "position absolute text" over and over.
if you aren't in webdev, you won't have any idea what this is. even if you are, this picture just looks like a mess
For some reason, a backdrop filter makes an element force its children into itself. No idea why.
This is somewhat of an old page, despite the date on this page. I just haven't listed it anywhere. So, it's been a while since I've made this, and I don't remember the conclusion I came to. Take this with a grain of salt, but from what I remember, it's a WebKit bug, which Firefox then emulated for compatibility with pages. So we ain't getting this fixed any time soon.
If you have no idea what is going on here, it's okay; just learn webdev for ~6 months. Simple.

This is an old archived version of my website as of August 10th, 2024.

You can view it, but page content may be outdated. I've tried my best to update links but some may be incorrect. Adding /archive/v3/ to the start of the url should work if you somehow 404.

The current version can be found at just dabric.xyz.
